A view from a barstool 27 by Landlord

Beer 2They say a week is a long time in a Landlord’s life (or is it politics I get confused). The end of the footie season brings it’s challenges as the men are dragged round a DIY shop or have to mow the lawn and the laydees decide that outside eating should be the order of the night instead of a nice beer garden. I’ve also cut down two trees, with an axe no less, without ending up in A&E. I called them Screechy and Goldibollocks and thoroughly enjoyed the stress relief that smacking the bejeezus out of them gave.

It’s been a bit of a bad week for them on the reporting front. The photoshopped picture of Owen Jones about why he will vote for Europe was widely ridiculed on twitter and on Facebook. Their bible passages get more and more obscure and the new ISIS hunter clothing looks more photoshopped each time you look at it. The only thing they could hunt is a Pint and a kebab on a Friday night (not at my pub I may add).

On to the more sinister..

Immediately an event occurs Screechy, Goldibollocks and their high command publish the story and make sure it’s heavily intimated as a terror attack. Firstly a “massive” explosion outside the ITV studio’s lapped up by the biffers disciples as a terror attack. When it turned out to be a controlled explosion on a car whose owner decided parking restrictions weren’t for him, did they report this? Did they buggery. They let their devoted sheep continue thinking it was a terror attack.

Someone broke into Buck Palace. Terrorism according to their page and once again this was lapped up. When it then turned out to be a mental patient who was let out early with a decidedly English name, did they report this? Nope – the damage had been done and the Muslims had been blamed.

On to the stabbings in Hampton. Again heavily biased islamophobic overtones. Once again they jump on the bandwagon, once again, after the truth came out that it was a mentally disturbed man with no Islamic background, did they retract, did their sheeple suddenly change their minds?Nope again. They let their islamophobic followers fire off comment after comment that civil war is coming.

Finally the Egyptair crash which Nemesis wrote so eloquently about on Thursday. No official indications of whether this was a tragic accident or a terror attack. Experts from all over were called by the media to speculate, pontificate and send out reports of what other media was reporting. It was a terror attack said Egyptair before the blackbox was even found (usually this is done for insurance reasons). Now it transpires it’s gone from 100% terror attack to a 20% possibility. I may wait for the official verdict rather than scream Islamic Terror attack. I think I speak on behalf of EBF when I say our thoughts and prayers (for those of us who do) are with the victims’ families. But if it comes out that it is a tragic accident then will we see a retraction from the biffers? I won’t hold my breath.

Finally, some mirth, Election fever is over, there were embarrassed faces all round in the Fuhrer bunker and probably a meeting of the high command that goes something like this.

“How can we fleece more money out of the idiot followers?”

The answer falls right into their laps… the EU referendum. and another begging Email, this time for £21000 to get us out of Europe. The Email, on the page, tells more lies than truths and they think that their 1.4 million followers on the page will vote to leave. Trouble is only about 500000 of their followers are eligible to vote, but this won’t stop them. £21k for something the leave campaign have already spent millions on. There is a whiff of male bovine excretia. Now I’m not overly political nor do I know much about the inner workings of the European Union. Here at EBF we have a broad spectrum of political beliefs and would never try to overly politicise the page (although others may have in the past). all I would say on the matter is that the Leave campaign need to convince me I will be better off out of Europe not the other way round. However Brexit may suffer as I certainly won’t want to be tied to a campaign that the biffers now are openly campaigning for.

So that’s it for the week, now to find a BBQ to gatecrash, and more trees to chop down (Lomax, Lewis and Blunn are the names of the next 3).

Cheers,

Landlord

Evan Davies and Britain First’s ‘random selfie’

This afternoon Paulie and Screechie were in London causing trouble outside the East London Mosque (yawn). At some point during the day they came across Evan Davies, well-known TV presenter and journalist. Never far from a camera and always quick to spot the chance to tell a fib they approached him for a selfie. Being a fairly approachable bloke Mr. Davies obliged. We bet he didn’t know what the deceitful duo would do with the image they took away though.

Without a thought for the damage they might do to Mr. Davies’ career it wasn’t long before Der Fuhrer and his deputy posted the picture on Facebook and their website claiming that Mr. Davies was a Biffer himself who had even been campaigning in the capital on their behalf. Of course Mr. Davies soon put the record straight but the damage had been done. Not to him though.

Continued use of these deceitful tactics does far more harm to Britain First than it ever could to Evan Davies (fortunately).

Here’s a phrase you might want to keep in Mind, Paulie…

Truth will out!

Britain First and ‘Freedom of speech’

Britain First’s biffers hate it when we counter their hate speech with facts.

Chrischill BF EBF fascist quote anti fascist

They hate the fact that we take the time to fact-check their misinformation and go to great lengths to debunk their lies. And they try hard to discredit us.

EBF BF freedom of speech doxing intimidation Queens speech

One way they do this is by claiming that we’re ‘politically correct lefties’ who hate freedom of speech. Nothing could be further from the truth. We at EBF have no problem with freedom of speech but like most people we have a problem with malicious lies. Freedom of speech (actually here in UK we use the term ‘freedom of expression’) has limits and there are good reasons for that. It’s long been illegal to slander or libel someone because, as we all know, malicious lies have real consequences for the victim. That doesn’t mean we can’t have and express different opinions. We just shouldn’t go around stirring up trouble with deliberate lies. Let’s put it this way.

Cinema fire Highgate

Imagine a crowded cinema full of men, women and children who’ve come to see the latest animated kiddies’ blockbuster. It’s a family event and the stalls are packed when some mischevious lout shouts “fire!”.

It’s not true. It’s a malicious deception. There is no fire but people believe the lie all the same.

People stampede – a predictable response. Several hundred panicked cinemagoers rush toward the exit. The crush is suffocating.

People die. That’s predictable too.

Is that OK? Is the ‘trickster’ within his rights to exercise his freedom of expression in this way, even though the harm and death he caused to others was entirely predictable?

This sort of ‘speech’ is destructive and capricious. Any argument for ‘free speech’ is entirely disproportionate when measured against the very real damage that it causes to innocent people. Nobody would justify deliberate, harmful lies that put people at risk of harm or death.

Remember that point.

Deliberate lies that cause predictable harm to innocent others are not justifiable by an appeal to freedom of speech.

Now let’s apply the same logic to Britain First’s hate speech.

EBF BF car mob libel

Britain First consistently lies about Muslims, immigrants, non-whites and anyone who isn’t a white-supremacist neoNazi like themselves. They lie deliberately and they do so specifically to stir up hatred.

Iran bf flag burn lie EBF

Gullible people believe their lies and this puts the victims of those lies at risk.

People are harmed as a predictable result of the Biffers’ lies.

Remember the point we made earlier…

Deliberate lies that cause predictable harm to innocent others are not justifiable by an appeal to freedom of speech.

Let us spell it out…

Hate speech is not OK.

Lying is not OK

Britain First is not OK

Maybe we should take a leaf out of the French book. They know how to deal with lying hate preachers…

Refugees from the rock

No – we don’t mean the Rock of Gibraltar.

We don’t even mean some lonely little island in the middle of the Mediterranean.

This rock is much, much closer to home.

Northern Rock refugees (2)

We’re very grateful to a supporter who sent us in this lovely picture of starving immigrants. It must be awful to be so hungry that you have to queue for hours to wait for charity from a foodbank in a foreign land. How desperate would these people need to be?

Except of course…

northern rock investors

They’re not immigrants, they’re British investors. And that’s not a foodbank, it’s a branch of the Northern Rock. Let’s be honest, Building Society investors and stock holders aren’t typically the hungriest people on the planet. This image was taken years ago when the NR first got into trouble as part of the worldwide banking crisis that is the real cause of the world recession.

Not that the xenophobic right wing would ever admit that. They’re far more likely to doctor images to fit their own agenda. And in typical fascist fashion they didn’t even do a particularly good job of their photo-shopped lies. You’d have think they’d have learned their lesson by now. It’s not as though they haven’t been caught out with cheap photo-shopping before, is it?

There again – they are Nazis – we shouldn’t expect too much from them. They never were all that  bright!

Controlled Mass Media

“Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.”

This is the sixth of Britt’s characteristics of Fascism and it fits Britain First to a ‘T’. Although they have absolutely no influence over the British media their behaviour both on and offline in relation to both the press and social media gives us a perfect indication of what they’d do if they could.

Censorship is one of the most important weapons in the Biffer arsenal. That’s why they remove so many comments from their Facebook page. That’s why they have harassed and threatened anyone who speaks out against their hate-filled agenda. That’s why they have threatened several newspapers and individual reporters who published uncomplimentary articles about them. They even threatened Channel 4 following the now infamous documentary showing them making fools of themselves in central London.

Fascist BF 6

Not only do the Biffers indulge in extreme censorship – they also publish distortions and lies on a daily basis. In the fantasy world of the Biffers all Muslims are criminals and rapists so they doctor images (with very amateur photoshopping) and even make up quotes from famous people pretending to show how awful their intended victims are. The tactics they use are exactly the same in principle as those of Joseph Goebbels, Adolf Hitler’s propagandist and the newspaper of Nazi journalist Julius Streicher.

We only need to look at the Nazi propaganda machine to see what Britain First would do if it ever gained control over mainstream media instead of just its own Facebook pages.
