Well that was interesting. Golding and Lewis discussing their recent arrests. It was 11 minutes of dull repetition punctuated only by an awareness of what they didn’t say. Golding talked at length about his own arrest under the guise of interviewing Lewis and left some very interesting questions unanswered in the process.
First they try to downplay the importance of the 1936 Public Order Act. Nice try Biffers but it won’t wash. The courts and the police fully understand how serious political sedition is. That’s why they arrested you.
Then they try to suggest that SO15 counter-terrorism officers are just time-wasting by interviewing Biffers before Lewis reveals that they tried to recruit him as an informer. Golding goes on to say that he’s aware of other Biffers being approached by SO15 for the same reason. We’re not surprised. Terrorist organisations like Britain First inevitably will be of interest to counter-terrorist forces. But here’s the really interesting part.
Golding has been arrested for the same offence several times. He’s also been interviewed by SO15 more than once. And yet not once has he mentioned any attempt to recruit him. Neither has he been held for anything like this length of time. Why not?
The far right has long suspected Golding of being an informer. We know of at least one occasion when ‘a senior leader of Britain First’ informed the police about a member with a gun.
How come Golding got off so easily when he was arrested himself?
How come he never mentioned being approached by SO15 himself?
How come the police always seem to know what the Biffers are up to?
What do you think?
