Supremacy of the Military

Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.”

Britt’s fourth characteristic, military supremacy, is very definitely aspirational so far as Britain First is concerned. They have absolutely no control over UK’s armed forces and in fact are hated by most serving soldiers and veterans. That doesn’t stop them hi-jacking the forces for their own ends though.

Facebook meme after Facebook meme encourages us all to ‘support our troops’ whilst all the while the Biffers rip off armed forces’ charities like Help for Heroes and the Royal British Legion. Their constant abuse of the late Lee Rigby’s memory, despite the pleas of his family to stop are nothing short of disgusting. The way they hijack pictures of soldiers on manoeuvres and refuse to take them down when requested by British regiments is equally disrespectful. But their constant misuse of forces imagery maintains the myth that Britain First respects and values the military.

The truth is that Britain First would only really support a very different military. They want a military that would further their nationalistic, racist, religious and paranoid aims. They want a crusade. They want a Holy war against Islam and all non-Christians. That’s why they post so many images of medieval Crusaders in shining armour. It’s all part of the aggressive nationalist, Christian fantasy.

Biffers glorify our current armed forces but really they would change almost everything about the modern forces, turning them into a hostile, invading force intended to eradicate anyone who Britain First decided was unworthy of life.

  1. You know, regarding their (probably unauthorised) use of crusaders/templars/other images taken from deviantart, I’d love to be able to track the sources of them and notify the artists so they too can take action. I would be well pissed off if BF used any of my drawings – especially without permission!

Anyway, I hope more military men like McKnight will start speaking of their contempt towards BF. It’s disgusting using the military for their own propaganda.

    • Terry – they are, I believe that Chris Whitaker on the Facebook page is ex-military as well and there are others who don’t make themselves personally known necessarily. According to McKnight there is a lot of support from serving forces to his cause however many of them are unable or unwilling to openly oppose them due tot he nature of their work. I hope I got that right.

      • Ah, well, that’s good to hear then! I understand that there are those unable or unwilling, but as I said, I can only hope other military men will start being more vocal about their disapproval. The more that makes a stand, the harder it will be for Paul to turn a blind eye I’d imagine. And I can’t imagine their “patriotic” followers would dare to oppose they support with fervour (well, most anyway).

  2. Terry, the case against BF misusing our splendid armed forces would be even stronger if so many Islamists would not so often turn out in droves, led by such as Anjem Choudary and Abu Izzadeen and chanting truly disgusting things like British Soldiers Go To Hell,British Police Go To Hell,Kill All Jews and other such charmers. Recently they attacked a Sikh temple and of course Jews are their favourite target.

I am unashamed at being a right-winger and anti Islam and its often violent inducements to show hatred and violence to virtually all non-muslims.The only reason that Islamists don’t attack Christians is that at a long and weary end the police might just remember that this is still a Christian country even if there are so many people trying their best to prove otherwise, and actually arrest a few of them.
